In TED talks, Jim Fallon talks about a mid of a psychopath. Everyone's brain is affected if traumatized by a serious effect, that mostly happened when they were younger. This tends to lead to a psychotic person, killer, etc. Genes, biological-epigentic, brain damage, and environment which then feeds into timing (age development) leads to a psychopath. All psychopath have damage to their orbital cortex, which is right above the eyes and near the temple. Damage to the orbital cord is caused by major and traumatizing events. This, obviously, leads damage to the brain, affected the way how the person things and feels.
Believe it or not, boys are more likely to become psychopaths. In general, men are more aggressive. Men are more likely to become psychopaths because boys only get one "X" gene from their mother. Then the more exposure the boy has to violence and traumatizing events, are more likely to be psychopaths. For example, even the most innocent person witnesses or is involved in a traumatizing (like domestic violence, child abuse/neglect, sexually assaulted, etc) is more likely to become a psychopath. Between 50-65% of kids who go through very traumatizing events become psychotics. In the novel, In Cold Blood, Perry is a prime example of a psychopath. He was abused physically and mentally, so this damaged his orbital cortex. Therefore, causing him to be a psychopath and wanting to kill people to receive attention. |
